Here Comes the Bus ... and the Bill
Wed., May. 18. 2011 12:51pm EDT
Our mechanic assures us that our bus will be ready for action for this weekend's concerts. But he hasn't given us the bill yet. We just know that his initial estimate was "several thousand dollars." Unfortunately, "several" can be a pretty nebulous word.
The Free Online Dictionary defines several as "Being of a number more than two or three but not many." To us, it seems that any time you put the word "several" in front of the phrase "thousand dollars," it does mean many.
Our April trip to repair shop started at $3000 and wound up costing close to $6000 after all the repairs were made. Don't get us wrong; we've used this mechanic many times in the past, and he's been very reliable and trustworthy.
Things usually don't cost very much, and we don't think he's gouging us. There has just been a lot of work that's needed done lately.
Please pray that this is the last of the repairs that we'll need and that the bill isn't too bad. If you feel led to help financially, please go to:

If you prefer to mail a check or money order, please make it out to "ApologetiX" and send it to ApologetiX, 208 Charlemma Drive, Pittsburgh PA 15214-1414.
Thanks. You ApologetiX fans are the best. Please do not give if you are in dire straits ... unless you are in the band Dire Straits, because we know that they get their money for nothin' -- sorry, couldn't resist.
