You Got Us Into This Fest: Here's Why Your Vote Counts
Wed., Jan. 19. 2005 12:54am EST
A month and a half ago, we ran a story in our newsletter about three national Christian festivals we'd like to participate in. We invited you, our fans, to let these festivals know if you'd like to see ApologetiX play at their event. The story only ran once in the newsletter, but you ApologetiX fans made your mark! Here's an email we just received:
"My name is Matt Crawford I'm the webmaster for SoulStock. We just confirmed today that Apologetix will be at SoulStock 2005. You guys have got some crazy fans! Out of all the surveys we've recieved about SoulStock 2004, Apologetix has been mentioned in nearly a third of them.
"We know this is a direct result of your mailing list and news archives (see http://www.apologetix.com/news/news-details.php?news_id=272). So I put up a special message for anyone clicking a link to the soulstock site on apologetix.com. Just thought I'd let you know. :-P
See ya at SoulStock '05."
In Christ,
Matt Crawford
Athens, AL
Editor's Note: You ApologetiX fans are the best! Thank you all so much! O.K., now that we've heard from one of the three festivals in the original story, do you want to try to see if you can make an impact with the other two? Here's the information again, as it ran in the original story. Thanks again!
ApologetiX has played at many of the national Christian music festivals, but there are still some festivals we have yet to play. Half of the battle of getting into a festival is letting the organizers know that you have plenty of fans who'd like to see you play there. If you'd like to help the cause, here are some festivals we'd like to play and how you can help:
ICTHUS '05
For years, we've had fans asking us when we're going to play at the Ichthus festival in Wilmore, KY. We'd love to play there! ApologetiX lead singer J. Jackson's wife, Lisa, is from Kentucky, and her family still lives there.
If you'd like to see us play at Ichthus, whether you're from Kentucky or not, please consider letting the organizers know you think we'd be a good addition to their 2005 lineup. Here's the link:

NEW SONG FESTIVAL '05
In addition to the Ichthus festival in Wilmore, KY, there is another large Christian music festival called New Song Festival in Leitchfield, KY. Not only is J.'s wife from Kentucky, J.'s family had a car accident there in 2002!
The New Song Festival is currently considering artists for next year's festival and have provided a form that fans can submit. If you'd like to see us play at the New Song Festival, whether you're from Kentucky or not, please consider letting the organizers know you think we'd be a good addition to their 2005 lineup. Please submit only one request. Thanks!
