Last Wkd in OH & Future Touring
Fri., Nov. 18. 2016 1:31pm EST
We had a blast playing last Saturday in Gahanna OH (near Columbus). Thanks to the many fans who made the trek from all over Ohio (Cleveland, Cincinnati, and elsewhere), plus others who came from Indiana (Cheri Herron and Heather Delaney), Michigan (Mike/Bob & Chris Sackett and Andrew Bargy), Pennsylvania (Jenn "Superchick" Kipp), and Kentucky (Guy Reynolds).
Thanks to Eve Tanner for running sound and Jenn for taking care of our CD table. We were also blessed to have our old sound and light guy Micah Clausen along for the ride. He proved to be an invaluable help, as always.
It was our first time playing with ApX alumnus keyboardist Todd Waites in over three years. Of course, Todd has played keyboards on many our songs in the studio since then, although Hubie plays keys on the two on our next single, and Chris VonBartheld and Greg Macaluso played keys on our last single. They're all part of the team and the ApX family.
Todd just completed the keyboards for the two songs on our Christmas single, due sometime in December. Many people are asking if he's back with our touring band. We'll have to see what happens as our schedule develops. Todd would like to play with us live more often, but he has schedule limitations because of his job. And so does Tom Tincha.
Furthermore, ace guitarist Wayne Bartley is now an equally big part of our active touring roster (he played his first full show with us in Green Bay last month). That gives us some flexibility, since we generally only tour with five guys at a time. Wayne is also slated to take on some of Hubie's production responsibilities for us when Hubie goes on tour with Neal Morse in the first quarter of 2017.
So many awesome musicians, so many great fans, so little time!
