ApologetiX Needs Summer Help and Prayer
Tue., May. 30. 2017 4:51pm EDT
J. Jackson, lead singer and lyricist for ApologetiX here.
I never want to be like the guy in Randy Newman's song "I'm Dead (But I Don't Know It)": "I have nothing left to say, but I'm gonna say it anyway. Thirty years upon a stage, and I hear the people say, 'Why won't he go away?'"
We've only been on stage for 25 years, but each time I send one of these appeal letters, I can almost hear the people say, "Why won't he go away?"
Well, I'm here in this email because we have many bills (band and family) that need paid, and ApX is still six months behind paying me. I'm here in ApX because I believe we still have things to say.
Ironically, Saturday morning, as I was contemplating sending an appeal, we received this unsolicited letter from Art Toalston, Senior Editor at Baptist Press, the official news service of the Southern Baptist Convention:
"I believe ApologetiX is the most important group of individuals in America when it comes to holding high and celebrating Scripture. You sing it without reservation and weave it into all your lyrics. No one else, not even seminary theologians, do this so well in our country's ever-more-sorrowful cultural milieu.
"Some folks don't like parodies, but they need to at least ask themselves how joyously and clearly they embrace God's Word as does ApologetiX, and then strive to do the same in their own spheres of influence. Lots and lots of people, and our country, truly would be in a better place."
Then, Saturday afternoon, we received this note from Janine Easterwood in Vienna VA: "I've been following ApologetiX since I was a younger mother. Now I have five grandkids and one great-grandchild, so I had to get this music."
If you're with Art and Janine and would like to help, here's how you can:
1. Pray (the most important thing)
2. Get our CDs, DVDs, USBs, singles, etc. at apologetix.com/store
3. Give online: http://www.apologetix.com/store/store-donate.php
4. Give by mail: ApologetiX, 208 Charlemma Dr., Pittsburgh PA 15214
Donations aren't tax deductible but their impact is inestimable. Thank you!
We don't want anyone to feel pressured to give. If you're hurting, we'll glady pray for you and send some free music downloads. To email me about that or to unsubscribe, send your message to j@apologetix.com.
