San Antonio Pastor Encourages ApX
Fri., Oct. 20. 2017 7:27pm EDT
We received this encouraging letter from a pastor in Somerset TX (part of the San Antonio metro area) on Tuesday and asked if we could share it with you. He gave us permission but asked that we remember to check his spelling. He'd probably like us to remember the Alamo, too, but that goes without saying:I just want to thank you guys for being so faithful to the Bible with every song you write. I like my 80's music, and now I can listen to it with Christian lyrics when other people are in the car and then have an opportunity to explain the lyrics to them.
I wish I could support you more than I do but as a pastor (not the mega-church tickle- your-ears type) I do well being able just to buy the CDs I buy.
I encourage every pastor and youth minister I meet to listen to you and use your stuff in sermons or for Bible study starters. I also appreciate you sharing the way your music has helped change the lives of others.
I had to defend your music to one of the ultra-conservative types when it comes to music, and I was able to forward your newsletter and an article about someone being saved as a result of listening to your music.
I simply asked him did God work despite the evil influence (his words) of your music or did God work because you were obedient to produce godly music in a different manner that snagged the attention of a young man who hated church? He never answered me which I can only assume he knew he was wrong and didn't want to admit.
You guys are great. Keep the Word out there for as you say it will grow wherever it is sown.
