Prayers for ApX Fan & Fiancée with COVID-19
Sat., May. 23. 2020 7:50pm EDT
We have talked to a number of ApX fans who have been sick with COVID-19 at one point or another in the past two months. This week, we received another and the person who wrote it specifically asked for prayer and gave us permission to share this letter:I didn't realize how difficult it was going to be to compose this email, until I typed the subject line, and suddenly unexpectedly broke into tears. (I guess it's really finally getting to me on an emotional level.) May I please send along a prayer request to you and the group?
Two weeks ago, I started feeling sick with what seemed like minor flu symptoms, until several days later it moved into my lungs, and I was having coughing fits and shortness of breath (but no fever). Finally, last Tuesday, my coworkers (I work in a retail pharmacy) insisted that I go and get tested for COVID-19, so I did - the next day it came back positive.
I've been in quarantine ever since, while my son and fiancée are on a 14-day quarantine together at her house (since they were exposed to me - thankfully, they have both tested negative so far).
I've never been so sick in my life, J, and although it hasn't been bad enough to consider going to the hospital (I can still breathe with my inhaler), but this is a daily battle. It's attacked almost every system in my body. Fever, coughing fits, shortness of breath, diarrhea, body aches everywhere, headache, dizziness, lightheadedness, no energy, unable to smell or taste, barely able to eat (I've lost 10 pounds in the past 7 days)... I have nearly every major and minor symptom.
This is such a struggle every single day, and I can't help but be fearful for my life at times. I lost my aunt to this three months ago, and it is fresh in everyone's minds, so absolutely everyone is worried (and I'm only 50).
Sorry for dumping all of this on you, but I knew you would be ok with it. Please pray for me and my family. Thank you.
Mike K in Washington State The next day, Mike shared the following news:Just to give you an update. My fiancée started developing a cough and shortness of breath a couple of days ago, so she went and got tested again yesterday. The test came back positive today. :(
She and my son were in quarantine in her house while I'm in isolation in my house. Now they are going to have to try to keep themselves separated within the same house, to lessen the risk of him getting it too. (He's only 13 years old.) Please join us in praying for Mike, his fiancée, and his son.
