Lyrics
Your Number's Up, O Beast
Parody of "The Number of the Beast" performed by Iron Maiden and written by Steve Harris
(Revelation 13:1-18, 14:9-11, 17:7-17, 19:11-21, 20:10; 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12)
Then I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies
gathered together to wage war against the rider on the horse and his army.
But the beast was captured,
and with it the false prophet who had performed the signs on its behalf.
With these signs he had deluded those who had received the mark of the beast and worshiped its image.
The two of them were thrown alive into the fiery lake of burning sulfur.
(Revelation 19:19-20, New International Version)
Oh, when the saints go marching in
With Jesus Christ the King against the enemy of mankind
What's in that scene canonically?
The one who sought that fight will meet a noxious, fast defeat
Just what I saw when I did read
Was the ejection of the one who stands in blasphemy
‘Cause in that scene, he’s hardly there
The evil beast that tricks mankind and leads them to be snared
Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah
Nineteenth chapter shows this holy battle
I just have to sing for someone wondering
In the mix, our Savior's moving quick
Watch all His foes reel — watch as some cry for help
Blitz! Pick six!
Your number's up, o beast
Hell can't quiet the song of the redeemed
War's engaged — and Satan's generals rage
As the sparks do fly, angels fill the sky
In mid-flight, those guys return with Christ
They reach the nasty one — Satan's worthless son
Blitz! Pick six!
Your number's up, o beast
Antichrist is going down tonight
This man called John I've trusted for so long
Said this will be real — not just some crazy dream
And I feel sure — John's words we can't ignore
He who met with Christ can't afford to tell lies
Blitz! Pick six!
Your number's up, o beast
Blitz! Pick six!
No one for you will grieve
Christ's coming back; Christ will return
And throw the beast and prophet in a lake that burns
Eyes hot with fire, Christ mounts His horse
He has the power to break all evil and its source
2 Thessalonians 2:8
And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will overthrow with the breath of his mouth and destroy by the splendor of his coming.
