Take It From the One
Parody of "Take It on the Run" performed by REO Speedwagon and written by Gary Richrath
(Luke 1:1-4, 10:25-37, 12:8; Acts 1:1-11; Colossians 4:10-14; Romans 10:9)

Heard it from my friend Luke — heard it from his friends who
Served the Lord enough to prove the message was sound
They said truth was important — it's out there if we repent
They talked to him 'bout this brand-new king that they found
But I know who made the book
The doctor's Greek; he says their story is good
And the man won’t tolerate telling lies
So I'm tellin' you, babe — that I'm in sync with Luke, babe
Believe it with your kids — heed this advice

You take it from the ones, baby
Who actually really saw Him daily
And life won't run you aground
Why not believe it? Stop for a minute
The wonders they've done demonstrate He's God the Son

You think you're trustin' wise guys; you're putting up with men who lie
You say you wanna know Him, but you won't say when
But I can feel Him comin' — so believe Him, why keep runnin'?
And you'll read that in Luke-Acts again

You take it from the ones, baby
Who actually really saw Him daily
And life won't run you aground
Why not believe it? Stop for a minute
The wonders they've done demonstrate He's God the Son

Take it from the One, they said
Who passed away but wouldn't stay dead
Then life won't run you aground
Why not believe it? Stop for a minute
The wonders He's done demonstrate He's God the Son

Take it from the one Savior
Confess His name and love your neighbor
Then life won't run you aground
Why not believe it? Stop for a minute
The wonders He's done demonstrate He's God the Son

Heard it from my friend Luke — heard it from his friends who
Served the Lord enough to prove the message was sound

Luke 1:1-4
Many have undertaken to draw up an account of the things that have been fulfilled among us, just as they were handed down to us by those who from the first were eyewitnesses and servants of the word. With this in mind, since I myself have carefully investigated everything from the beginning, I too decided to write an orderly account for you, most excellent Theophilus, so that you may know the certainty of the things you have been taught.
