Build the bus

Today we had tons of help and got tons done. We had Nate Jones who’s doing a week long work camp on the bus along with Kelli, Zack and Jacob Frantik. We also had drummer Jimmy, Larry, Beth as well as Ted and Cameron Davidson. we built the bunk world!
Renegades of Bunk
Typical morning at ApologetiX Central
Transferring extra stuff to the old bus
Kelli harvesting foam from the gutted seats
Karl checking his design for bunk world.
It’s tough when nothing’s plumb, level or square.
Checking the booth design. (need the bunks done to do the booth)
the beginning of the bunk design
Jimmy working on the cabinetry
Getting crowdied in the bus.
All foam harvested and drying in the sun
Zack screwing the wall suports to the floor
Karl carefully extracting the part that will be the hall way. Watch the floor!
More measuring
Larry cutting 2x4’s for the framing
Framing in bunkworld
Jimmy hard at work on the rear cabinetry.
The bus is 1” taller over 8 feet. Enough to drive you mad :)
Nate triple measuring
screwing in the nailer boards for the bathroom wall.
Bunkworld doorway
guted chair pelts.
making sure the doorway is straight in a bus that isn’t
After 4 hours, we have a straight and plumb skeleton. We can build bunks
Jimmy wraps up the back cabinetry for the day
Lookin’ Good
First injry of the day, Jimmy tries to screw himself to the bus
The sun gives up, but we’re at it from 10am until 1am
Measure, cut measure..
Jimmy on cabinetry
Framing
Cameron and the second shift finish the work on the bunks.
The Davidsons got there around 10pm for a couple hours more work
2x6 bunk supports
with reinforcing/bunk-supporting half angle
Getting there
Tools everywhere
We’re done for the day. Tomorrow we do four booths, frame in the bath
